SINCE 1956

Clothing, Footwear and Accessories to Stand the Test of Time

In 1956, George Radanovich Sr. founded the Fremont House in the historic Odd Fellows building, a brick edifice built in 1867 in the heart of Mariposa, one of the Gold Rush towns of the Mother Lode and a gateway to Yosemite National Park.

Quality Apparel for Mariposa's Lifestyle

George's aim was to bring quality clothing, footwear, and accessories to Mariposa's people and visitors—things that would stand up to a day riding the fence line at the ranch or hiking up Half Dome and yet look good enough to wear into town afterwards.

The Fabric of Mariposa's Community

George exemplified personal service-always ready with a joke or story, always willing to stretch out a pair of boots that were a little tight, even if you bought them elsewhere-he was one of the best-loved citizens of Mariposa.

George's son Mike started working alongside his dad as soon as he was old enough to reach a shoebox.

Carrying on the Legacy

Today, Mike Radanovich carries on the Fremont House tradition, seeking out brands and items that you won't find everywhere-classic styles that are beautiful, functional, and that have the quality of materials and construction to last for years. Mike shares his dad's gift of making people feel welcome. He is always willing to special-order items, mink-oil a worn-out pair of boots, or share his collection of historic Mariposa photographs. Mike's daughter Elise is working to carry the legacy into the future.

Celebrating 60+ Years

Like the town of Mariposa, the building that houses it, and the Fremont House itself, our clothing, footwear, and accessories will stand the test of time. Come help us celebrate over 60 years in business!
